Passit ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
1. Who we are
Passit is an independently operated EdTech product based in Auckland, New Zealand. We can be contacted at hello@passit.co.nz.
2. What information we collect
When you register on our website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your year level (e.g. Year 10, Parent)
- Which CAA standards you are preparing for
- The date and time of registration
We do not collect payment card details directly. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
We do not collect your answers to practice questions or your results unless you explicitly share them with us.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide you with access to the Passit CAA simulator
- Send you your access code and product updates
- Improve our question bank and product based on usage patterns
- Contact you about your registration if needed
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.
4. Who we share your information with
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate Passit:
- Supabase — secure database storage (servers located in the US)
- Vercel — website hosting (servers located in the US)
- Stripe — payment processing (when payments are enabled)
- Anthropic — AI writing feedback (your writing responses are sent to Anthropic's API for marking)
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and security practices.
5. Data retention
We retain your registration information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our service. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@passit.co.nz.
6. Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct any inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information
- Make a complaint to the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been breached

7. Cookies and local storage
Passit uses browser local storage to remember your access code so you don't need to re-enter it on each visit. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
8. Children's privacy
Passit is designed for use by students aged 13 and over. Students under 13 should use Passit with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. We encourage parents to register on behalf of younger students.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email.
